Gentle, Unique, and Perfect for Any Flock
Minimum Purchase 8
The Silkie Bantam, also known as the Chinese Silky, is one of the most beloved heritage breeds in the world — admired for its soft, fluffy plumage that feels like real silk. Originating from Asia, these charming birds are as beautiful as they are gentle, making them an excellent choice for families, hobby farms, and backyard flocks.
Silkies are known for their docile temperament, hardiness in cold weather, and their exceptional mothering instincts. Their black skin and bones, blue earlobes, and five toes on each foot make them a truly distinctive breed. Hens are highly broody and wonderful caregivers, often used to hatch eggs from other breeds or even other bird species.
Though they lay around 156 small light-brown eggs per year, Silkies are most prized for their affectionate nature and ornamental appeal.

These hatching eggs are shipped directly from one of our trusted hatchery partners. Availability may vary based on seasonal demand, breeder production, and hatchery inventory levels.
Many hatching egg varieties have minimum order requirements established by the hatchery. Please review the product description carefully before placing your order to ensure all minimum quantity requirements are met. Orders that do not meet minimum requirements may be subject to cancellation.
Our trusted hatchery partners work hard to provide quality hatching eggs from carefully managed breeding stock, and many customers achieve excellent hatch rates and successfully hatch healthy poultry from their purchases.
Because hatch success is influenced by many factors—including shipping conditions, egg handling, storage, incubation equipment, temperature, humidity, breeder fertility, and incubation practices—we cannot guarantee fertility rates, hatch rates, or successful hatches.
As these factors are outside of our control once eggs leave the breeder, refunds, replacements, or credits cannot be provided for eggs that fail to hatch or produce lower-than-expected hatch rates.
By purchasing hatching eggs, the buyer acknowledges and accepts the inherent risks associated with incubating poultry eggs.
