Why Choose Black Marans?
- Rare & Beautiful Eggs: Known for producing some of the darkest brown eggs of any breed—truly a collector’s delight.
- Dual-Purpose Birds: Valued for both their unique eggs and flavorful meat.
- Refined Yet Hardy: Calm and quiet in nature, yet tough enough to handle colder climates.
- Low Maintenance: Easy to raise and generally healthy, they integrate well into mixed flocks.
A Farmyard Favorite with French Roots
Marans aren’t just show-stoppers in the egg basket—they’re also admired for their regal appearance and composed personality. While they may not lay quite as often as hybrids, their eggs are often prized for their color and quality.
