20% Layer Pellet Complete Feed

Let's talk feed.... so many of you guys ask what we feed. 

We feed a 20% laying pellet. It is a complete feed that provides all the vitamins, minerals and nutrients that a chicken needs. I consider it a superior feed than what you can find in most feed stores. I choose pellet feed over crumbles because there is less waste and chickens generally enjoy eating the pellets off of the ground as well. I found that I feed less of the pellets vs crumbles over time. When I really dove into the nutrition side, I found that most chicken feed offered for sale is 16% protein. For your average chicken, this might be fine. But we do not raise "average". We raise the best egg layers you can get. They have a higher production than most and as such need a better feed with more protein. 

More money on feed does NOT mean it's a better feed. Read your ingredients. Ideally, 20% protein is what you want. 3-4% Calcium is ideal for young hens. 

At this time it is only offered in 50 lb bags and only in pellet form. It is available for local pick up only.
