Buff Orpingtons are an English barnyard hen. They make great dual-purpose breeds. Orpingtons come in many different colors, but can include Buff, Black, White and Blue according to AMA (American Poultry Association) standards. These chickens are very docile, and friendly. They absolutely LOVE to be cuddled and will often seek their owners out for attention, which is partly why they are so sought after in the poultry world. 

They make great mothers and go broody often. Usually, they will accept hatching eggs under them. The roosters can even partake in the chick rearing to help give mom a break when chicks hatch out. Buffs are a top choice with many families because of their high toleration with children.
